SE Tylose - Your best partner
Tylose® unites innovation and tradition. In 1935 - for the first time ever - cellulose ethers were commercially produced under the registered trademark Tylose in Wiesbaden, Germany. Ever since then our highly qualified employees have been developing individual solutions for our customers, enabling them to use Tylose in a world of products and applications.
Building materials
Tylose® is an essential component in many building materials. It is mainly
responsible for water retention, consistency and adhesion. The homogeneity,
stability and workability of mortars are improved by the use of Tylose.
Using Tylose enables the manufacturing of modern and efficient construction
materials, such as machine plasters and thin bed adhesives.
Further applications
Tylose® has numerous advantageous properties such as thickening,
water retention, adhesion, binding, plasticising, film forming, gelling and surface
tension modifying. Utilising these properties makes Tylose a highly suitable
additive for many applications.
Drilling Industry
Tylose® is used in the production of crude oil and natural gas. Its enormous
water retention capability and electrolyte tolerance makes Tylose a powerful
fluid loss additive for borehole cementing. Higher viscous Tylose grades are
suitable additives during the drilling process steps stimulation, completion
and workover.
Ceramic applications
In the ceramics industry many different Tylose® products are widely used as
plasticiser, binder and floating agent. There it has proven in its role
because of favourable molding, drying and debinding properties.
Coating materials
Due to numerous properties, Tylose® is an important component in water
based paints. The most essential properties of Tylose for the optimisation
of coatings are; adjustment of consistency, water retention, binding power
and the function as a protective colloid.
Personal and Home Care
In Personal and Home Care formulations the most important properties of
Tylose® are thickening effect, respectively consistency regulation, stabilisation
and high compatibility with other ingredients such as surfactants.
Polymerisation
In emulsion and suspension polymerisation processes, efficiency combined with
a reliable high quality of the resulting product is indispensable. Tylose®
acts as highly effective protective colloid in these processes and facilitates
outstanding results.
